1 - What is my concept of a Higher Power at this time?

My concept of a Higher Power is God. I've had a personal relationship with God since I was in my teens. By working the Steps, I have been given a new outlook on what my Higher Power wants for me and how He sees me. I used to think of Him/Her being disappointed in me because of my shame-based and low self worth. Now I believe that it's more than ok for me to be imperfect, because after all -- I am a human being. What a relief!

2. What does Came To Believe mean to me?

Came to believe means to me -- a final surrendering that there is a Power greater than my own that can do for me what I cannot do for myself.

3. What do I hope to gain from accepting the concept of a Power greater than myself?

I hope to gain more peace and serenity in my life from accepting a Power greater than myself.

4. What does sanity mean to me?

Sanity means reality without the bite. A wholeness. Wellness from my stinking thinking, unhealthy and ingrained ways of handling situations that brings me unhappiness. A new way of living.

1.What is my concept of a Higher Power at this time?

For me my Higher Power is the one and only that I have great conversations with, beg for forgiveness from, ask for guidance from and firmly beleive that he is watching my every move (good and bad).  I also believe that my Higher Power not only watches over me but that he sends angels to keep me safe and when needed to guide me.

2.What does "come to believe" mean to me?

It means that even though i cannot see it, I cannot feel it, taste it.... i know that IT is there right in front of me.  We cannot see the air we breathe but we all know that it is there for us.  We cannot see our Higher Power that we pray to but we know that he is there to listen.

3.What do I hope to gain from accepting the concept of a Higher Power greater than myself?

I want my Higher Power to be greater than myself.  I want him to be a father figure. One that I need to answer to when asked.  One that provides consequences upon my actions.

4.What does sanity mean to me?

Sanity is almost accompanied by my serenity.  They both seek inner peace, calmness instead of cios, but first you do need sanity before experience serenity.  However both are just as important.

Yours in recovery

1. My concept of a Higher Power is of a loving father who wants me to be happy, joyous and free.

My Higher Power doesn't test me with adversity but is there to give me courage and strength when mine or others bad choices cause me adversity and pain.

2. To me Came to Believe means I accepted that I was powerless over other people, places and things. That I no longer had to feel responsible for others actions or inactions.

3. By accepting the concept of a Power greater than myself I have learned to depend on that Power to guide me in my daily life. I have been given daily serenity contingent on how well I listen to that Power instead of letting my will take over.

4. Sanity to me is depending on my Higher Power to do for me what I cannot do for myself.

1 - What is my concept of a Higher Power at this time?

My hp is my heavenly Father.

2.What does "come to believe" mean to me?

"Came to believe" for me means realizing although I do have a lot of control in how I live my life (for example- how I choose to react-feel, focus my attention on, etc.),  that ultimately my hp is in control  and wants the best for me.    His love for me is perfect.   And His ways are better than I can comprehend.   There are still times when I question why I things may not have worked out the way I prayed for or thought they should have worked out.

3.What do I hope to gain from accepting the concept of a Higher Power greater than myself?

My goal is to live life with as much serenity as I can muster, regardless of life's circumstances.  To learn I can have serenity whether or not the a is drinking, whether or not the sun is shining, etc.

4.What does sanity mean to me?

Sanity means living with serenity.   It means going to every argument I'm invited to.   Or not indulging in anyone's negativity.    It means I am in my hp's care and I may not see any solutions to what I am facing, but that doesn't mean the solutions are not available.    It means I can let separate myself from my parents dysfunctional "stuff".
