Step 6
Were entirely ready to have God remove all our defects of Character

C2C page 31 I accept the fact that I need help in being restored to sanity) achieve this without help. We need to be ready.fore shortcomings to be removed and do what we can to be prepared, but we lack the power to heal ourselves only my
Higher Ppower can do that

My share. Step six

In the beginning of this alanon journey I made myself entirely ready to have my shortcomings removed by  continuing to attend meetings, sharing with my sponsor reviewing the first five steps and praying  to accept the fact that I cannot cure myself.  I knew this to be true  because I had  tried , unsuccessfully. . I trusted that when I was ready, my higher power, would help me. The program had not failed me in the past and  I accepted  that I needed to keep practicing and showing.  I actually became entirely ready to have my defects removed as I kept showing up and saw them at work in my daily life.. I saw how destructive my sarcasm and negativity really was and prayed  continually for them to be lifted. One day I discovered myself responding.differently
and that was when I realized that HP have done for me what I could not do for myself. I'm grateful I  kept coming back

Step six questions 

Do I clearly understand the concepts of readiness?

How do I know if I'm ready? How do I encourage those I sponsored  to work the step?

Other than let go and let God. What other Al-Anon slogans or tools can help us?

Can I ask God for the willingness to be ready ?
 
Which defect of character also contains an asset? 

am I grateful that I now know the God of my understanding?

Other than let go. How can I look at all these characteristics our first point of view?

Can I make a commitment to share in Al-Anon meeting however the steps?

Step six questions

Do I clearly understand the concepts of readiness? Yes, I see where I am impatient and want all these defects gone in the blink of an eye. It doesn't happen this way......I need the help of this program, meetings and others who know how to apply these to their life.

How do I know if I'm ready? How do I encourage those I sponsored to work the step?
I'm too uncomfortable with how I feel about all the character defects I saw, am seeing and uhg.

Other than let go and let God. What other Al-Anon slogans or tools can help us?
Get out of your head! Just wait and see. ODAT. The fog will raise....easy does it....keep coming back.

I am ready

Yes

Other than let go. How can I look at all these characteristics our first point of view?
I'm not sure I understand the question but....."IF" it is what I think it asks.....my first point of view was distorted, VERY distorted and was not serving me well in any area. Everything just stopped working for me and my world was falling apart. After working the program/steps I see how all the defects I relied on to cope have been sabotaging me. I want them gone!

Can I make a commitment to share in Al-Anon meeting however the steps?

Hello Tude Good work Step 6 helped me to see how my defects hurt me andthen I became willing to have them lifted.
