Humility helps us to see our true relationship to our Higher Power. Throughout the Steps, we are steered to turn to the God of our understanding for guidance and support in our efforts to change. By the time we reach Step Seven, we know we don't have to beg or demand things from God. We simply ask. We learn to trust God's way and pace as we go about our business. Humility is also the recognition of all the components of ourselves discovered in Steps Four and Five and total acceptance of the daily action in Step Three.

hi Dot thanks I know what you mean the programme leads us to be alot more relaxed about things . Remembering always that you can ask the group for help if you are an atheist too ,

" I have said , ' I know I am powerless , but I feel so helpless , frightened , hopeless , ' and I have been told I had the option to surrender those feelings and ask for what I need . Powerless does not mean helpless."

Humility for me has become a quiet place in myself where I can go and talk to my Higher Power. Where I can ask for what I think I need and leave the decision to Him knowing that what I am given will be what is best for me.
My shortcomings are being removed in His time as I continue in my program - not necessarily when I expect them to be.

thanks yes that's a good way of putting it Dot. The Higher Power whatever that is for you is related to a feeling of humilty
