I used to believe that if Higher Powers were around, then Lower Powers were also around. In that sense, alcoholism makes a little bit of sense at least. I'm trying to remain sober. I feel good as far as feeling go. I found that anger and stress caused many of my relapses. When I looked forward to the future, I was daunted by the formidable challenge.
Basically, personality changes require time. Mindsets are constructed slowly. There is nothing in our lives which cannot be undid; because we did it we can undo it too.
I believe that what the Bible says that to whom much is given, much is likewise expected. If you want to help others, to create opportunities, to supply answers -- you had better have done your homework. Never forget to educate yourself, if you can't afford the financial burden of formal schooling, educate your own selves!
Alternate your influences. That would mean to abandon television and pornography. To return to your senses after enduring years of being routed by alcohol and wandering far from decent society, you make a clean break --

hi, brian, as I said in my post to your other topic, it is very interesting, and I would like to discuss them, but they belong on the actual AA message board in that section of this MIP site. Here is a link: http://www.activeboard.com/forum.spark?forumID=42735
This message board is for discussion of the Step that we are currently working on, which is Step 8.
