Service in ACOA is extremely easy - just share your stuff. I learned to trust by hearing other people share their success and their troubles. We may often feel like we are stumbling our way through recovery but it works by sharing and listening. There is no miracle cure for what ails us. We help others by helping ourselves. We can't determine what someone else needs to heal, but we can help them by sharing about our path. It is a great program because what we need more than anything is for someone just to listen to our stuff without judging us. What a change from childhood where we had no one to tell. Grief does love company, but we can experience all of our feelings together. My favorite line in the ACOA Welcome is that "whatever you have experienced, you can know that someone else has too." We're here for each other to stand hand in hand to help each other walk their path. Now that is what I call service

I think that's well put notcrazy , yes I usually find something I can relate to in these programmes , sometimes people think they're rambling and are surprised when people identify with them !
