Step 11 : "Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood Him, praying only for knowledge of His will for us and the power to carry that out."
From the workbook entitled Step by Step for Emotions Anonymous I will paraphrase a simple thought....that prayer and meditation help us to achieve and maintain our serenity. "It is said that prayer is talking to God and meditation is listening to God."
That our prayers don't alter God but they do alter us...in one way it helps us to remember to surrender to our Higher Power and allow HP to be in charge and not us.
Some suggestions for this practice of prayer and meditation have included a daily time in the evening or morning and keeping it simple....it also doesn't have to 'start' as a long event but can gradually become something that enriches the day when practiced for about 30 minutes...just suggestions but worthy of consideration if one is interested in enriching the connection with the God of our understanding.

Hi yes i try to read a portion of scripture a day sometimes i cant do that so i pray, or i do look at nature and see the beauty my HP has given me. Prayer has helped me greatly.
