I didn't see any Al-Anon shares here today, but we're on Step 2 next. What came to mind when reading this passage was some things I read about training dogs. Without expert coaching, sometimes the animal feels 'over-responsible' ! I so relate to that. Now that I have a Higher Power ( which is not a religious one ) some of the weight is lifted from my shoulders. I don't have to be in charge! Sometimes it takes a while but I will be guided to the help that I need at the time.
Maybe people are still on holiday here. Look forward to seeing some Al-Anon shares soon, all the best,

" This little bit of hope, this chink in the armor of despair, is enough to show that we are willing to move in the direction of healing. Once we recognize that the possibility of help exists, it seems worthwhile to explore a relationship with a Higher Power. A little willingness can go a long way toward making hope and faith an ongoing part of our lives. In the hands of Higher Power, sanity and serenity become realistic hopes."

Hi, Vicky,
I was hoping for a little insight into Al-Anon. I am not sure whether there is a "right" meeting for me, but have found that the steps provide, as my AA friend says, a kit of spiritual tools. Tools for sanity, for me, I hope.
It took me a LONG time to find a "Higher Power" that I could believe in, but I have found it, and I think that with Her help, sanity is possible.

hi Jules! delighted that you found my input helpful. A 'right meeting' ? hadnt thought of it like that. The right fellowship perhaps, then I would feel that most meetings were helpful, off or online. Great news about your HP.
