Hi Al-Anon,
looking at the posts on the front page here we seem to have done Steps 1, 2 and 3 recently so I figured we might be on step 4 now.
Quote:
'How can I benefit from doing an inventory? I want to relieve myself of those self-defeating attitudes and behaviors that block me from living life to the fullest. I know my recovery is a lifelong journey, and I begin it by identifying troublesome areas right here, right now. I ask myself certain questions. What are the attitudes and behaviors that may have served me (or at least gave the illusion of serving me) in the past but now limit my capacity to experience joy and fulfillment? What are the resentments that keep me in bondage to the past? Can I honestly admit my part in my difficulties and strained relationships? Am I still holding on to situations in which I have no fault? Am I coming to trust and value myself?'
I chose this quote because I draw strength from it and it boosts my self-worth to read it. I came here to work on my self-image, damaged by being around disfunctions. The programme has the tools to re-build it. Traditions protect our inner selves from being harmed in the process.
look forward to reading you all again soon, llol Vickyr x

Ever feel like there are songs written by people doing the Steps? Step #4 Linkin Park "What I've Done". In the absence of a meetings, my ipod sometimes helps me feel less alone in this process. Anyone notice other songs that lend support to our work on specific steps? Inspiration is everywhere, if we are paying attention.

Hi Jules and Cielbleu,
yes songs can be good too. I don't know how you're 'supposed to do your step 4'. Maybe just read around the board and see if there is something you'd like to comment on. Hope thats a help,
