My husband and I have attended two meetings. Nothing has been said about sponsors. Are they just for AA? Life is so chaotic that I have difficulty being consistent with anything. I think a sponsor could keep me on track to work the steps. Do you have to ask for a sponsor or is this help offered after attendance at a number of meetings?

Hi PaGenie and Dave Harm, yes that s how I understand it. Remembering also that these groups are non professional. So your sponsor is just there to share his/her experience with you. They can't be responsible for you and they may not always get everything right either. In other words its an adult working partnershop/friendship something like that,
