Step Three - Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God as we understood him.
1. How do I feel about turning my life over to a Higher Power for guidance? I feel a sense of relief knowing that someone else is in charge. I also have a sense of fear because someone else is in charge. It is comforting to know that God is in control and will take care of everything. I sometimes put God on a back burner in my life and am working on having a closer relationship to him. I am working on not just talking to him when I am afraid or when I need guidance, but also to glorify him.
2. How do I know who or what my Higher Power is?
I am a Christian and believe that God is my Higher Power.
3. How might Step Three help me keep my hands off situations created by others?
Knowing that someone else is in charge provides comfort. I try to tell myself when I notice that I am trying to run the show or manipulate things that I may be in his way. If I don’t let him take care of things and open my heart to his Will, I may be interrupting his process.
4.) What can I do to see others as God sees them?
I think that I need to look at other people as I would look at my child. I need to look at others with an open mind and without judgement in my heart. God looks at us with Mercy, love and kindness. I believe that is how I should look at others. I am a very critical person and am still praying about this character defect.
