Hi Seara & welcome to the board,
If you look at the bottom of the page with posts you will see pages listed. If you go to page 2 you will see posts for step one from both AA and Alanon. There are suggested readings and questions you can asked yourself about step 1. If you are trying to work step one you have probably already decided that you need help.
Step One says "We admitted we were powerless over alcohol--that our lives had become unmanageable."
If you have not attended a face to face meeting yet I urge you to do so. I have found that nothing can replace the fellowship and love that we find in the meetings. This board can enhance your recovery, but cannot replace human contact or the need for a sponsor.
Feel free to post any questions you have on this link if you want and I or someone else will try to answer them to the best of our ability.
Love, cheri
If you have any questions

Sorry I ve been gone so long,I gave up,and now im back to try one more time, having better luck with steps, not so much in getting to ACOA meetings. I thought step one is where you just let go,and move to step two. I'll read everyone's messg, and start over, thanks
