I'm on my almost 3rd week of no alcohol and, I've got the worst headaches and am sleepy all the time, can't think clearly; I've been told this is due to detoxing. Does anyone have any feedback on this? Thank you.

Hi,
Sounds pretty normal. As you body begins to withdraw from the alcohol, it will do some odd things in the beginning. It does get better. I went to a health food store and described my symtoms and asked what herbal remedies they recommended. I had a hard time fallling asleep at first, couldn't shut my thoughts off, and started drinking chamonmile tea before bed.
Love, cheri

Those symptoms are not usual, in fact the opposite reaction is far more common. To be on the safe side I'd consult a physician knowledgable about addictions.

It's funny that there were two replies to my topic; and each reply was totally opposite opinions. Since the other reply was from a newbie, I'm going to rely on your reply, which is that it is normal. It's been almost 2 months now, and the tiredness is subsiding; the headaches are gone; and I'm beginning to think more clearly, altho that one, I hope, continues to get even better as I still feel less clear-minded than I normally did before I quit drinking.
It's not that I don't appreciate the other person's response, but I'm hearing from a whole lot of oldtimers that this is all part of detoxing, and I'm going with that. Thank you.
