well,, it's what they call the Dog Days of summer.. the hottest ones thru July 15th - Aug 15th. I've been doing my spring and summer activities and wandering, but it is just too hot lately to do so much. This morning I woke up at 5:30 cuz it is the coolest it will be, to try to get some things done, and one of the things is that i've stopped in the rooms here. I want to say that I appreciate Dot's perserverence in faithfully continuing to do the alanon steps. and I see that Cheri is carrying on with the AA Steps and want to thank her for a good job too. The 12 Steps are the center of our recovery program, and have provided and still provide a method of recovery that has worked and is working for millions of people where nothing else works. The way to learn what the 12 Steps are and how they are traditionally done is to use the official literature and listen to the elders who have gotten it from elders in the program, and to share - share questions and answers, experience about learning and growing in recovery, the hope that we can give to others and they see and hear how far the elders have come when a newcomers arrives thinking, like we did, that things are hopeless but we are checking this program out anyway,, and the strength that we have in our Higher Power to deal positively, constructively, and successfully with things that overwhelmed and boggled us before.
thank you all,
love in recovery,
amanda

I just want to add here.. that I consider dot one of the 'elders', not necessarily in age, but in the way that AA uses that term, and to repeat that cheri is doing a great job.
