I've been a member of the MIP message board for a while and decided today to check out this board. I'm not sure what to do first to begin step 4. I do have the blueprint book. How do I go about this on here?

Hi Buick If you look further down on this page you will find that we have been working the steps each week
THere is a 4th step message posted. Many members have responded with their process on the 4th step so you might get an idea how to proceed,
We also have post the 5 th step as you can move onto that step when you finish . I believe we will start step 6 next week
I have done many 4 th steps during my many years in alanon as more is revealed each year.
It was suggested to me to try to keep the first one simple, it will not be the last.
I used the suggestion from the AA Big Book even AS I am an alanon member. Same disease, SAME 12 STEPS.
SO THIS IS THEWAY I WORKED IT
i GOT A PAPER AND MADE 4 COLUMNS AND ENTITLED THEM AS FOLLOWS: I. A lIST OF ALL THE PEOPLE I FELT ANGER, RESENTMENTS, TOWARD.
2 THE REASON i WAS ANGRY (THE INCIDENT). WITH EACH
3 WHAT PART OF MY EGO THIS INCIDENT TOUCHED (PRIDE, SHAME, CONTROL ETC.
4.MY PART IN TEH PROBLEM
ONCE I HAD THAT I REVIEWED IT AND POSTED IT TO THE BOARD OR SHARED IT IN A MEETING OR WITH SPONSER
THIS PROGRAM IS VERY POWERFUL PLEASE KEEP WORKING IT.

Hi Buick!
My recommendation is to work with a sponsor - you will have many questions and need guidance.
If you are going to work it by yourself, which is an option, I would purchase a 12 step book. I worked the steps through AA with a sponsor and used the Big Book and 12x12. I have read the 12x12 for Al-Anon. One of my all time favorites was Codependents' Guide to the Twelve Steps by Melody Beattie which I used with a sponsee. It has questions and excercises to help guide you along.
There are a LOT of options out there if you plan to do it on your own. I have stacks of 12 step books - from steps for buddhists to skeptics.
Good luck! Keep coming back. We are here if you have any questions.

I know you are attending meetings now buick , so find yourself a sponsor this is not something you should be doing alone , its way too easy to beat ourselves up ,we dont need enemies were really good at tearing ourselves down .. a f2f sponsor is a gift one you deserve .. Louise
