If a group is beholding to an outside means of support, then there is pressure to change the group's message to suit its benefactor. This is to protect ACA from that.

I found out quite a bit by reading the Alanon posting on tradition 7.
I suppose we are talking about all contribtions- service incuded.
We do it all ourselves, as members...
Somewhere in the labrinth I read the posting about cash contributions.
I prided myself in checking it out- not getting fearful, not criticising
before finding out the facts. I feel we get a good deal here- I do not
have to hop in the car and go anywhere...
I would hope that if there is a short-fall sometimes that John would let
us know beforehand.

Maybe not beforehand, but John does let us know when he needs supplemental funds. And I'm sure a surprise donation would be more than welcome.
