9. ACA, as such, ought never be organized, but we may create service boards or committees directly responsible to those they serve.
Organizations often get lost in the preservation of the organization to the detriment of the mission of the organization.
I agree James- I observe that as the membership of an organisation
gets older they tend to live for the organisation rather than the purpose.
Nothing wrong with that, really. But Tradition One gives us a cue- to
hand over the running of things to younger members and allow them
to make their own mistakes and discoveries.
[I think that was about the first part of Trad. 9]
Because this might not come up I think the 3rd and 4th Concepts of Service
of Alanon are really important to remember.
The 3rd concept: "The right of decision makes effective leadership possible."
That applies to any member at any time. The guidlines and principles of
ACA are so many and various... so at times our mistakes may turn out

Initiative, and 'the executive decision' may be the saving of all of us.
We often seek approval by hugging the wall and doing nothing. As
we grow in maturity and ESH we will reach out and try new things.
The 4th concept of Alanon is great, it says it all...
