I was involved in 2 different groups in key west which both broke up while working step 4. Im now in northwest florida. I started a new group because the closest was 60 miles away. we are finishing our step one work and I wish i knew the right way to finalize step one.

You might want to log into the am-anon or A.A. chat forum, depending on what meetings you attend, to get this question answered.

Hi Dave Good job in starting a group and working the Steps. Since alanon is a one day at a time program and we never graduate, in my hiumble opinion we never finalize any of the Steps.
We can answer the questions in the Paths to Recovery, talk it over with our sponsor and then move on Each day when I wake up i say the serenity prayer, turn my will over as in the 3 step prayer and remind myself that I am powerles over People places and things We are all always a work in progrss. keep showing up

Anyone know a good bridge from step 2 to step 3?
we finished step one by everyone describing their person insane behaviors and what was unmanageable about their own lives. We have been ready to finish step 2 for 2 weeks, but im holding us back to complete the questions and gain familiarity of reparenting the inner child concepts. Will probably finish tuesday by explaining what our higher power is, how it can help us and reminding ourseves of our insane behaviors. will follow it up by doing our inner childs drawing of the higher power. I am reinforcing chapter 8 of the redbook with the 6 steps of inner bonding found online. forget the doctor who does that, but they go hand in hand.

finished step 3 and moving on to the frightening step 4. both of the groups i particiapated in beefore broke up doing this step. it was very painful and people quit being willing. Anyone have any gentleness hints how to keep the group from running away scared?
