Hi My name is Theresa and I am codependent and I am new to the alanon and ACOA 12 step program within the last year, I have gone to CODA on and off for the last 10 but never stuck with the program for very long. I knew for so long something felt very wrong with me being a very responsible ACOA I took sole responsibility for the relationship problems that I was encountering with my husband.I emersed myself in self help books constantly, I seemed to always be reading about my life and I was going to do whatever I could to get better. Around this time 2 years ago our family went into crisis mode and we have been barely hanging on and survivng. There is so much to share. At this point I am thankfully working my program my husband did seek recovery for a couple of months but has a tough time with trusting people so he withdrew from AA and fired his sponser. He is not drinking.... Toughing it out I guess. I know I must realize that I can get through all of this if I really work this program and take care of me. Our 4 children 17,16,13 and 11 are counting on it I am sure.
Being in the program for the last year I am finally really serious about really working the steps. Thanks For being here...........
