Step 2 - NarAnon

"Came to believe that a power greater than ourselves
could restore us to sanity"

I know my life had become insane and unstable, all my
actions were not of a sane person...going to the
places where I might find my addict or reacting to his
"uncaring attitude" toward reality were not things a
sane person would even consider doing.  Yes, I know my
life became very insane and I became an unstable
person in every aspect of my life. I can look back now
and see why my kids that I had lost my mind and
belonged in an institution somewhere.  Today, I feel
sane and serene not only because my husband is in
recovery but I am in my own recovery focusing on
myself.

For a long time, I prayed that GOD would fix my life,
but I know now I was in the way.  When I entered the
rooms of NarAnon I surrendered my will over to
someone greater than myself and I chose to believe it
was GOD.  Without working a program I know that my
life could return to insanity whether he is addiction
is active or not, but the only person I can do
anything about is me and ME is enough!

The 2nd step says "could restore us to sanity" because
we have surrender to someone/something greater than
ourselves if we want to recover from the affects of
this disease.  Our
HP isn't going to do all the work
for us, we have to surrender.

I believe today even though my life might not be the
"white picket fence" life...it is saner and serene
because I'm working my program.

Hugs,
Tammy
