Gratitude

Gratitude!

Isn't just like a Breath of Fresh air to walk into a room of A.A. after being gone for awhile and still feeling the LOVE you did when you first walked in the DAY you got SOBER.

That's how I felt tonight. After a very depressed, tired, lonely day. God in his Grace places a meeting into my Heart to go to. Where not only am I reached out to but I can reach out to others that are also in need of that HUG, GENTLE SMILE, NOD OF APPROVAL, that say's yes we are linked to a common thread that brings each of us here tonight. "ALCOHOLISM,"

The meeting was entrusted to me to give my Chair of my experience, strength and hope. So that all there can see and hear one more story of success from the disease of Alcoholism and the GRATITUDE one more ALCOHOLIC can share with the New Comer and the Old Timer.

Sharing with  another drunk there is nothing like it and there never will be. That's why we go to meetings! SO LETS GO. HOw about you? Are you ready to go to one. If you are feeling alone, isolated, depressed, sick, with the commitee that goes full time in your head, lets go to a face to face meeting. It helps you! And you will help some other drunk by going. Promise!

Wow, thank you so much for that share! It is definitely the best feeling to walk into the rooms of AA and know that there are other people that know exactly what you are dealing with. I know that I have the tendency to not want to go, my disease tells me it's a waste of time or that I have other more important things to do. However, the moment that it starts, I know that is where I am supposed to be.

But I can't say that I am thankful only for the rooms. I am so thankful for things like this, that if you don't have an opportunity to get to a meeting, that there is still somewhere you can go to talk to other alcoholics. I am sitting at work right now, and just being able to review the things that I am thankful for really puts me back into that hard-working mode.

Thank you for everyone here, you are helping me stay sober another day!
