STEP 10 -AA

STEP 10 CONTINUED TO TAKE PERSONAL AND WHEN WE WERE WROUNG
PROMPTLY ADMITTED IT.

Step 10 which suggests we continue to take personal inventory and continue to set right any new mistakes  as we go  along .
We vigorously commence this way of living as we cleaned up the past.
We have entered the world of the spirit .
Our next function is to grow in understanding and effectiveness.
This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for a lifetime.
Continue to watch for selfishness ,dishonesty ,resentment, and fear.
When these crop up , we ask God at once to remove them.
We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone .
Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we can help love and tolerance is our code.

The thing with Step 10 for me is that I don't know what I don't know.  What I mean by that is, I've gotten to a point where I intuitively know as my day unfolds if I'm doing something inappropriate, so when I reflect back on my day I don't see anything that I hadn't already seen as it occurred.  That doesn't mean there may not be more there, but if I don't see it when it's happening, I don't see it upon reflection.  I guess that falls under the "more will be revealed" category, in that one day I will see something that had theretofore been unseen by me; but reviewing my day does not reveal anything for me that hadn't already been revealed as it happened.weirdface

Step 10 A.A.

Continued to take personal Inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.

Because of the A.A. program I am and have gotten very good at admitting my wrongs and promptly admitting them. I am just sick of making the same mistakes over and over again. My Shortcomings that glare me in the face that are difficult to get rid of. I am and havve prayed for freedom from them but God hasn't removed them yet. I am still hopeful because I am still alive to work this program of Action and more Action.

I don't have any problem beating myself up with the stick of worthlessness. I have to pull out the WARMTH of GODS GRACE again, and again, so that I am able to LOVE, TRUST, and FORGIVE, myself. ALong with deflating my resentments and hurt feelings that false.

I have a Sponsor today that I am in contact with everyday. I am at meetings no less than 3 times a week, and I am back in counseling starting December 2. Even having a Sobriety date in 1994 I am still prone to having a Chronic Mind of an Alcoholic. With other problems that have nothing to do with ALcohol.

So doing Step I0 again for me today is working it from ground 1 through 12. Doing the Steps over again cleaning house every year is a good thing for this alcoholic to do. As long as I am working closely with my SPonsor. Following her directions by reading the Big Book and reading the Twelve by Twelve, One Step at a time, One Day at a Time.

SO at the end of this day I can say. I have not offended anyone or anything. GOing to bed with peace of mind and Gratitude in my heart is a BLessing.

Thanks,
Blessed

One of the first things my sponsor did for me was to 86 me. He showed me the instructions for Step 10 on page 86 of the book Alcoholics Anonymous. He had me put the book on my bedstand and told me to read pages 86 and 87 every morning when I arose and every evening when I retired.

Where ever I read that the authors of the book did something I was to do it as well. Thus, when the book reported that the authors, when retiring at night, constructively reviewed their day I followed their example. Again, on awakening they prepared themselves by asking God to direct their thinking so this is what I did.

These practices have become habit. I am very greatful to the man who took the time to show me the instructions and to those who first wrote them down.
