A.A. Before Step One

Dear Winners

When working with my first Sponsor for the first time and each time that I have gone over the Steps since. I read my books from the beginning.

With the 12x12 in hand and the Alcoholic Anonymous Blue Book (Big Book) in hand I sit down to do some reading.

My Recovery/Sobriety Birthday is in the front cover of my Big Book. My reading begins with the Contents of the 12x12 and the preface of the Big Book.

As I am reading the 12x12, I get a glimpse of each of the 12 Steps and 12 Traditions. That way I am not a stranger to them. As time goes by you will understand them better. We come to the introduction, then the Foreward, and we should be on page 18.

In the A.A. Big Book the reading plan starts on the first page which is the Contents  v-x  xi, xii.
Foreward to First Edition is xiii, xiv
Foreward to the Second Edition is pages xv-xxi
Foreward to the Third Edition in my book is numberless.
I don't have the Forth edition mine is the Third edition.
You can purchase a Forth for $6.00.
After you have read this and gone over this with your Sponsor you are ready to go onto reading Step One.

Step One is reading the Next Chapters xxiii-44: The Doctor's Opinion through Chapter 4, We Agnostics.
