Hello,

I'm Di and I'm an al-anon participant.  My dad, step-dad, sis and several relationships are/were alcoholic.  I'm very co-dependent but trying hard to make changes.  I was in Al-Anon several years ago and then stopped for quite some time.  But I'm back now and looking for answers.  I really need help with the steps.  Mentally, I understand them just fine but putting them into practice is a whole other ballgame.  I am currently unable to go to f2f meetings, will try tomorrow to find a ride.  I guess if there's anything else you need/want to know, just ask.  Thanks

hi, Di

Welcome to the boards. Most things in my life are like that, I think.  I kind of understand it intellectually, but living it is another thing.

love in recovery,

amanda

Welcome Di - Glad you found us. Putting the steps into practice isn't easy but certainly worth the effort. Admitting I was powerless was the hardest for me as I always thought I had everything under control and was helping fix everyone else.

It wasn't working - no one was getting fixed - and of course I was gettng crazier trying to juggle all the problems that were really not my business.

Keep coming back and try some on-line meetings along with your f2f group. Thursday night is Steps and Traditions (9pm et)

Love in recovery - Dot

Thursday night is the Step and Traditions meeting?  I didn't know that. I don't see any chat room with this board either. Where is it? I will start to attend.
