Lifetime Addicts

I have a feeling my family and relatives and some people around me are lifetime addicts, I have been clean and sober for 2 years and 4 months, but I feel stunted and I think this is the reason, because I didnt know these people were lifetime addicts.  I started using about 8-10 years prior to my clean and sober date, and my family has never told me anything.

Hey, I have been mostly sober for decades and my husband of 9 years has 2 ddaughters in ther 50s who are lifetime addicts. One is in advanced stages. It is hard but as soon as they come into our lives we get all thoe porblems, feelngs, gut wrenching stuff. He is 74 and does not need the stress. gotta find ways to get them out of our lives.

So am I now to resign myself as a "lifer" AA member. I find that kind of depressing. I'm so p..s..'d off at myself for being so out of control with my social drinking, I know what I have to do to stay sober... just fighting and arguing with myself and wish there was an easier way. Not looking forward to hitting an AA meeting every week to keep myself from indulging. I am afraid this isn't my bottom. How do we know when we hit bottom?
