im still new to this too.. ive been told to read the books.. keep it slow and one day at a time.  go to face to face meetings regularly.  talk to people to guide you slowly thourough the steps and take care of yourself...since you cant control others.  you are the one who can make your future good.

sorry this might not be a lot of help but i am right with you trying to figure out the steps.. they are in the books.  keep going to the chat room and ask for help there also.

good luck and dont give up. if you dont get the answers you need just ask again.

hi, hippie,

It would help to know which program(s) you participate in. Most of our groups now do have their own Step meetings, held in the chat rooms,,  check the schedules for the meeting times. Reading the sticky posts above helps people who come to understand how this board works. We cycle through the Steps, posting each one up periodically, and people post shares and questions about each Step at that time. People can private message any of us to ask more personal questions, or talk about more personal issues regarding the Steps,,  such as one that is not being discussed at the time, but that you are on. Going to face to face meetings is very important if you possibly can. There is also literature for each group that is very helpful.

love in recovery,

amanda

Hi Hippie - Welcome. Good advice from Sandie. I take it you're talking about Al-Anon. You can go back to Step One on this board and read the shares and our Al-Anon Big Book is called Al-Anon Works. You can order it on this site or perhaps your Library has it - or if you go to a meeting they would have copies to sell.

Glad you're going to the chat room. Try to make the Thursday Night meeting at 9pm et - it's a Step/Tradition meeting.

Feel free to e-mail me at Dot48730@webtv.net

Love and hugs - Dot
