Grace and shame

I have been a food addict all my life. Only recently I started with a Bible study group where a lot of study went into the righteousness of God. Having come some way I only now realize how self-righteous I have been all my life.  This month I stared with the 12 step program and have an OA sponsor. I am still uncertain what to share with my sponsor. In the mean time I am sharing with God the amazing way in which He revealed me to myself! And if it wasn't for grace I don't think I could have been able to start with step 4. At present I feel I'll never finish this step. But I have also never in my life felt so liberated and airily light when I think of my past or for that matter the present. I spent most of my life being ashamed of something or other. Now I know my attitude determines the outcome of all situations. I am not perfect or without faults. But God removed them from me. I don't belong to myself. I belong to Another! Who loves me!

Awesome!

Thanks Annali

Your message was so powerful and honest. Looking inward , with the help of HP and finding out all the ways that I have been defeating myself was a great gift of this program

I read tonight that in the 4 thru 10 Step we never ask HP to give us anything We only ask for destructive things to be removed. It noted that we already have all the good stuff inside we just have to shed the walls we built around ourselves for protection They are not needed any longer We have HP

'Keep coming back you are doing fine
