11. Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, as we understand God, praying only for knowledge of God's will for us and the power to carry it out.

This step is another one of those who have the word God in it which can trip people up. Again, substitute Higher Power for God and change praying to asking.

The main thing to keep in mind is that you need to allow yourself the flexibility to go with what life offers you instead of trying to form life to your notions of it.

smile thanks James... by coincidence I am on this step, as we speak...

for me 'step' means to walk, to move forward. I can do baby steps, but I am not jumping up and down on the spot any more. I plan to do all 12, on a regular basis, to keep fit and to enjoy life more. aww
