Redoing the steps and finding a sponsor

confuseI have read the ACA red book and am wondering how to get a sponsor as there are no meetings in my area Birmingham UK reading the book and the laundary list ,  recognise myself as having many of these traits I have been in AA for ten years, been to counselling which helped and realise that going through the twelve steps ACA way would be beneficial for me. When knowing what i am doing would like to form a ACA meeting in my area. From past experience of attending ACA without the ACA steps and traditions the meeting became unsafe and folded.  Please any information on how to find an online sponsor and do the steps with the emphasis on dealing with dysfunctional traits used to deal with parents alcoholism, that are now making my life unmanageable in adulthook

Hi Sabin,

I think we get credits if we have done step work in another 12 step programme. But ACA is special in that we learn to make amends to ourselves as well as for others.

Because ACA hasn't bin around for long its sometimes hard to find sponsors. p 365 of the BRB talks about 'fellow travelers' as being one way of doing the ACA steps... it widens the field a fair bit...
