rings doorbell !

hi Alanon , ACOA , AA ! been to lots of 2f meetings and recently exploring the idea of using the online resources. I worked through alot of stuff with sponsors and find now I'm left still with alot of 'codependent guilt' , which I don't feel will ever entirely go away . ie getting over involved with other peoples problems , obsessing etc , and of course that isn't always even helping anyone ! in fact what I've been learning in these groups is that helping others/giving advice can in some cases have the opposite effect. This is quite confusing as I also don't want to become an uncaring person . But would like to reduce all the chatter going on in my head to do with my own and other peoples issues ! I see that you work through a step each week on here , which sounds great , but do members have to comment every week on that step ? and is it OK to post off topic as well ? not sure how regularly I can attend see , as I haven't really settled anywere on the internet yet although I do aim to , just feeling my way around atm , is it ok if I ease into things gradually ? I've also joined your CAS board and am really hoping to stay there , depends what happens though , internet support is relatively new to me and some of the groups I joined so far turned out to not be OK for me , nowhere is perfect I know but I just didn't feel some places were good for me , but I like the look of what you're doing here and hope to read and share more soon , lol Vicky x

hi, vicky..   welcome to this board.  This board is a bit different than the rest because it is limited to discussions of the current Step, Tradition or slogan,,, and not personal topics.  I've seen you on the CAS board and am really glad you are there.  That is the place for general topics. I belong to both,  the Steps here, and the fellowship there, and I hope you can do both also.

We encourage people to share on the current Step here, but it is up to the individual and is not an obligation. So it is fine to come and look it over, and learn from the excerpts that we put up from the appropriate literature,,  and you are welcome to share when you are ready.  If you are interested in back Steps, used the drop down menu of pages, and go to whatever pages you want.

God bless you,

amanda
