 Step 11 Sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God as we understood him, praying only for knowledge of his will for us and the power to carry it out

Prior to program I scoffed at prayer and meditation because God of my understanding was punishing harsh and unyielding. and believe it or not REFUSED t do MY WILL
Thanks to this program, and  picking up the simple tools that are offered, such as the slogans , the serenity prayer and a sponsor, I was guided to let go of my negative view of God. and  I finally did see and accept the fact that my unrealistic expectations  as well as my child's experience of religion. were unrealistic
I did accept the fact that Al-Anon is a spiritual program, not a religious one , and then I can tend my spirit by daily maintenance, such as gratitude, courtesy and kindness. What a gift this program has been
