HI,

Pray! pray that your higher power finds the right sponsor for you and pray to be willing to recognize who that may be. Go to as many meetings as you can attend. The difficult part is taking the step to ask someone to be your sponsor, with your higher power's help you will find the right person. IN the meantime work the seps on the board. Good Luck!

Hi. It's so hard to advise someone when you have so little information.  The best suggestion I can come up with is to go to more meetings, introduce yourself to the women, get there a half hour before the meeting and stay a half hour afterwards.  Talk to the women.  I'm sure you'll find someone who is willing to take the time to help you, IF you are willing to go to any lengths yourself.

God Bless!

hi Leighahh welcome , as I understand it shouldn't be too much of a 'worry' finding a sponsor if you just get to know different members and maybe get their phone numbers from a f2f meeting or email addresses you can get to know them as Alanon friends and maybe one of them will become a sponsor if that feels right at the time

You're welcome Red.  How is it going?  Find a sponsor yet?  For me I had to sit in a few different meetings and listen... with my ears and with my heart.  When I found her I can tell you she wasn't anything at all like what I'd imagine my sponsor would be.  And she was perfect for me!  She walked me not just through the Big Book and the steps, but through many personal life situations.  She taught me how to apply the steps to my daily living.  I'll never forget early in our 'relationship' she said, "C, you never ever have to do anything alone again in your life.  I'll be here.  But if you drink you can go to hell by yourself!"  I chose not to drink.

Best to you, today and always.

When we have newcomers or people who have been in the program and dont have sponsers yet we give them our phone numbers to use between meetings. When you are comfortable with one of them you can ask them to sponser you. My sponser is really a great person and she knows when I call her by hearing my voice if I am happy, sad,mad or glad. She is someone that I am comfortable telling her all about me good and bad and she loves me anyway.
