hi Dot hope your recovery is going good . Thanks , I find that humility and readiness are things that develop gradually in the programme and I'm told not to worry too much about bringing them in because they in themselves are what the programme will lead us to ,

Step Seven:
Humbly Asked God to Remove Our Shortcomings,

HUMILITY is STEP SEVEN.
Has anyone ever noticed that this is a WE/Our program, not a me program. That this step also states we asked GOd to Humbly remove OUR shortcomings. To me that means that I must pray for my fellow ALcoholics, brothers and sisters that are in the grips of this disease. Praying for Gods will in your lives, to brreak the bondage of "SElf," in this step. So that we can humbly ask GOD to Remove ALL OF OUR SHORTCOMINGS that are working this program of RECOVERY.

Step Seven were asking in prayer for GOd to remove our shortcomings. What are they? It states on page 71 of the Twelve by Twelve that for thousands of years ALcoholics have demanded more of there share of Security, prestige, and romance. When we succeeded we drank even more to dream even bigger dreams. When frustrated we drank for oblivion.

I/We have been there many many times when we used to drink. I Love Sobriety. God help us to continue to remember that you are in the drivers seat. That I/we will gladly place our/my life into your hands everyday.

For us/me to be cured of our Shortcomings I/we had to be rid of "SELF." Self-Centeredness, Self-Seeking, Self-Reliance, Self-Assurance, Self-centered Fear. All Step Seven is, is asking GOd in all Honesty, is to Bless I/us with humility to help I/us to help others to become the humble, loving, kind, giving, God fearing people that he wants us/me to be. I/we are GOd's Children, His Creation, His Lovesong, "HIS."

I am sorry I didn't answer your questions that you had for us.

Thanks for allowing me to share Step 7 with you,

Blessed
