NA- Getting the first year

Can't quite beleive i've made it. I have a clear memory of when i first came around seeing someone get up for their 6 months and thinking to myself i will never make that. That self doubt stayed with me for quite a while telling me that i was going to use anyway and the last three weeks telling me that i was going to relapse and i would not make it to year clean. But here i am another living miracle and proof that the program works. No matter how hopeless and helpless we may be or may feel, life gets better and there is a future for us that we could never imagine and that i am just beginning to see. Recovery may be hard and it may be painful, but it is most rewarding and a million miles away from the walking wreckage that i once was. when we come through the struggles there is normally a reward waiting for us on the other side even if we may not see it straight away and the best reward of all is that we are still clean and grateful to be alive. keep the faithsmile

Dear Danny,

Thanks for your encouragement to me and the others for what you wrote about you and your Recovery. "YES" life does get better in Recovery "One Day at a Time" and I too am a living "Testimony."
I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers!

Love in Recovery,
Blessed
