Step 4

Hello All,

I need some advice from those of you have already completed Step 4. I am just beginning it but I find I am writing down "so many" people whom I am resentful with. I am using the example from the Big Book (p. 65). I am having trouble with writing down the entries for "Affect My" since I cannot seem to categorize resentments I hold into sex relations,  self-esteem, security.

Thanks A Lot,

Bernie

When I did my Fourth step, my sponsor REMOVED people from my list. I had huge guilt for so many things I couldn't control. But I wrote them all down and then dealt with the results in my Fifth step.

Many of the "affects my" categories were unclear for me too, but my sponsor suggested I add a column of "my reaction". Once I saw what I DID in response, I often knew what it affected. Does that make sense?

try the acoa yellow step workbook exercises. They address the innermost layer of the onion skin and adapt to hurt peoples idiosyncracies.
