Trying to work with step one

If I still watch how much my A drinks then does that mean I have not admitted that I am powerless over alcohol or what? How would you define life as unmanageable? I do my everyday "normal" things but my parents(who are both As) argue all the time....so would my life be considered manageable or no? Someone please help me understand step 1.

The real question is do you find your life unmanagable? I don't know where your at in life but do things seem outta control to you only you can answer that as for counting drinks thats a problem I have been there for several years and working away from that! I have done my share of counting drinks. I would pour them out and hope that he wouldn't remeber about them. But when I made a big deal about it he only started to hide them and then I never got to see how much he was drinking.

When I came in the program I had a hard time with the control issue. With the help of my sponsor and a nice support group I am doing better. My sponsor told me the one way I could move to step two is if I knew that I would be ok if he went back to drinking. The answer is yes it took me a while to come to it. I have set up a system with my friends, family and my job.
