Back to living room


trying to get the picture


of the passed out man I love


with his face down


on the kitchen counter


out of my head


Instead, one more trip


Crying, Ranting, Screaming, Pleading


Still no one listening


off to bedroom


lock the door


vision still on my mind


One more trip


Crying, Ranting, Screaming, Pleading


back to bedroom


this time on my knees


chanting...


God Grant me the Serenity


to accept the things I cannot change


the courage to change the things I can


and the wisdom to know the difference


over and over


over and over


sleep over comes me


and awake to a new day.
