Doing the steps

I am getting ready to start my first step again! I am dealing with a new sponsor. At one time I had two years clean and sober. Now I almost have five months clean and sober again.  I have a question?  Should I treat my first step as if I have never done it before, or should I do it from the time that I relapsed? I don't really want to rehash all of the baggage yet  again. I never have gotten past the third step because of relapsing and switching sponsors several times. But I have done the first step several times.
Thanks for the advice

My understanding of the first step is it has nothing to do with rehashing anything.

It is the acceptance that we are powerless.

Take a read through some of the 1st step posts here for more experience, strength and hope from those that have completed the steps.

I also recommend visiting the MIP AA board and becoming part of the family.  It is a great group of folks.  You can get there by clicking on the Miracles in Progress logo above and then choosing the AA message boards.

We are so glad to have you here.  Please keep coming back as you work through the steps with your sponsor and ask any questions or share your experience.
