What's the best way to start a sponsee on step 3

Hi Guys/Gals

Just wanted some ideas how you bring your sponsee' into STEP 3

I usually read with them and tell him to write on it. What feelings/thinks, etc, etc.

Thanks

Hmmm... no sure if this is for AA, Alanon, or ACA.

No matter. This is my ESH.

What I would do is listen, and explore what his/her beliefs, any faith. What are their hopes and dreams?

What I would try and do is get them to expand on this...

...if they have gotten to step one then something is lacking.

By looking at beliefs, consider ways going on through the steps that they can build more confidence and trust in a higher power...

Hey DaveG

Thanks 4 your input.

This is for an A.A. newcomer of course.

How to turn ones life over to a Higher Power for someone who really doesn't have a grasp

of a Power Greater than him or herself.

I believe deep down in most human beings there is a sense of something much greater than

themselves. My is: JESUS. Being sober into my 38th year is solid proof that HIM is helping

my stay sober, even through my DRY DRUNK periods.

So I think I'll just do what I use to doing in letting him and I read the 3rd. step and let him

tell me what he feels/thinks and wants to start doing with his life.

GOD bless you DaveG
