step 4

Hello  my name is JOJO

i am chairing a meeting this week on the 4th step.

Although i am still relatively new<1 year>  i have chaired 3 meetings.  I still find it rather intimidating to chair

but i do enjoy it!!  i always learn something new about myself, mostly from listening to others sharing!!!

Can anyone tell me a good topic for the 4th step ....i don't know i find this step rather daunting.....overwhelming..

but i do want the group to have a good understanding of the step weather a person has  done it or not....something to leave

them thinking....i just want a good meeting. And i have not even attempted this step.although i am contemplating on starting it..at some point this year

i was thinking of keeping it positive by having the group members look into a mirror and asking if they would share one asset

that they see in them selves..and how their higher power has helped them to see that asset or achieve it<if they want to participate that is their choice,i am fully aware that some may not...i don't want to offend anyone.

any replies would  be greatly appriciated

thank you in advance

Hi and Welcome Not sure if you are charing Alanon acoa or AA

Alanon has a book, titled "the Courage to Change" . I always find it helpful to open a meeting, with a reading from that book, on the topic that I selected. It centers the group and facilitates sharing. Page 65 is perfect for the 4th Step.

Then you can share your ESH on the topic and open the meeting,as you suggested with everyone finding an asset

Let us know how it goes

we r meeting this week after doing exercise 1 in the yellow book.I think the common traits we do not have, what contradicting traits we developed, and what event(s) caused that in our lives will be a good discussion topic for us this week.
