Tradition 12 Al Anon

Tradition 12 - Anonymity is the spiritual foundation of all our traditions, ever reminding us to place principles above personalities.

There is so much wisdom in this tradition. It reminds me the importance of humility. It reminds me to look for the common bonds for the shared bonds versus seeking out the differences. I've asked the same question of many people, "how do you related to shares of those who are so different?" And the answer is always the same "there are nuggets everywhere" I'm reminded that the first time sharer has as much to share with me as the old timer. Each has their own personal story and their own ESH to offer. All have been affected by the family disease of alcoholism.

Would love to hear your tradition 12 stories and ESH.

In gratitude

Audrey

Audrey, thank you for your service and discussion about Tradition 12.

I have been a member of MIP since 2014 but sadly stepped down in January of 2020

because of my inability to place principles above personality. There was an individual,

who has since left the board that reminded me of what I was dealing with at home

that I could not take the added stress. There was never any angry words exchanged,

but I did make it known to the individual that the approach used by them was not

appropriate. I regret having left, regret not having been able to hold Tradition 12 in

it's proper perspective. I am working on this Tradition and see where I went wrong.

Debb, thank you for your share. I still remember the first time I was told I get to make a new choice and change my mind. It was so freeing. Sending hugs
