Step 3 awakenings EA

ML here....powerless over my emotions.....I didn't get what that meant until I started to look at my emotions as addictions......I didn't know where to start because I didn't have something concrete (so I thought) I needed to 'give up'.

Then it dawned on me.

I can be/am addicted to depressive thinking. I can be/am addicted to anxious thinking. My acting out includes.....negative self talk. Perfectionism. Lethargy. All or nothing thinking. Blame. Shame. Anger. I attempt to avoid facing these things with 'distraction' acts....shopping too much, watching tv too much, thinking too much, avoiding just living today doing the little 'first things first'.

If I look at it this way I see how Program and HP can make a difference in my life. How slogans, prayers, fellowship support, forums, meetings and just being human 'one day at a time' while under my HP's care and guidance can make a difference....Just for Today.

I can see my part, without recrimination, and see what tools the Program offers me to look at 'my part' without using my addiction to 'beat myself up' with.......so I can grow forward and not just sit spinning my wheels.....

I can get out, into the world and just live, but with Program it's an easier way.

I am not cured. But I am 'just for today' willing to use Program and live a good day.......to the best of my human ability......

Yours in Program.....
